  3. Mr. Clemens Simon Clemens is a 95 year old Caucasian male Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1916 Moved to the Bay Area in 1944 Currently resides in High Street Nursing Home

  4. What was it/What was it like? “ It was a way to get around and it made everyone’s life so much easier.” “My father had a Peugot 14 Hp type .” 144 and 144 R (1,799 units up to 1915)

Facts The automobile was invented which replaced the traditional horse and wagon. · The automobile was powered by an internal combustion engine that burned gasoline within piston chambers to move the wheels. · It took many workers to produce a functional automobile which provided many jobs. The automobile industry quickly became the largest and most profitable business in America. · The invention of automobiles made everyone’s life easier. · It provided radical new approaches for moving people and goods within the country and around the world. · “The impact of the automobile on the lives of most Americans cannot be overstated. Individuals and families finally had a form of transportation that they controlled rather than being subject to the schedules or timetables of a railroad or shipping company. Even though purchasing, fueling, and maintaining the car cost them almost as much as their house, most people felt the expense was worth it.”

  8. 21st Century Today cars are still a major form of transportation but today they are getting more advanced and environment friendly.
