  2. The last EPAC in the series took place fittingly in Genoa, 20 years after the first which took place in Rome. EPAC evolves now into a 3-year cycle. IPAC’11 will take place in Spain, after IPAC’10 in Kyoto and preceding IPAC’12 in New Orleans. The poster was selected following a competition between 3 Italian institutes participating in the organization of the conference 2008 JACoW Team Meeting

Some figures • 1200 registered participants (including exhibitors and staff - SPMS registration module is still a little vague about this ….) • 87 oral presentations • 54 invited • 33 contributed • 1200 poster presentations • 90 industrial exhibitors • 63 supported students • A hell of a lot of local organization too … not covered in this JACoW TM Report 2008 JACoW Team Meeting

EPAC’08 SciProg/Proceedings • Fully SPMS Conference (Programme, Registration (delegate/exhibition - new modules)) • 26 Total Proceedings Office Staff (not all paid from conference budget, incl. part-time, students, etc.) • Editors (incl. transparencies): 18 (10 pre-conf) • IT (Database, plus Computers, etc.): 3 • Paper Reception: 5 • 99 (wo)man processing days • 150 Per diems: ~ 26kEuros • Plus computer rental, catering, invitations to social events, etc. 2008 JACoW Team Meeting

Processing • >1600 contributions at abstract submission • 54 invited oral • 33 contributed orals • Remainder scheduled as posters (significant withdrawal (20%) right up to the conference) • >1100 contributions published on-line “pre-press” 11 a.m. of morning of last day of conference • 1218 papers and 90 sets of transparencies published on JACoW 3 weeks later … • No CD/USB to participants - but downloadable set at conference site to USB wristband … ??? 2008 JACoW Team Meeting
