  5. 4. What is a pictograph? An ideograph? • A pictograph is a symbol or drawing that represents a specific object. • An ideograph is a symbol for “non-picturable” things. They are used to show actions or ideas.

  7. 1. What is a language family? A language family is a group of languages put together based on a resemblance to one another.
