Strong Political Drivers • Political aim is twofold: • to improve the local air quality, by lowering output of CO2, NOx and fine dust locally • to decrease noise pollution city areas • Rotterdam joined the Clinton Climate Initiative In 2025 50% reduction of CO2 output (against 1990) Rotterdam as ‘World Capital of CO2-free energy’

Italy is taking the lead • In ItalyEVs are exempt from taxes and have a substantial insurance fee reduction. • In most cities the trash collection is performed by EV trucks. • Rome city centre is restricted for internal combustion engines enabling the use of electric vehicles (small transporters and buses).
