  3. Warm Up • Identify three effects of colonial rule on African nations. • Political instability • Economic dependence • Conflict w/in borders • Poor infrastructure • Education • Improved health • Desire for improved SOL

  8. International Orgs • Role in UN • Policies protecting developing nations • (Free) Access to new technology • Sell goods in all markets • Eliminate barriers to trade • Receive development aid, emergency relief (famine), peacekeeping (war zones).
