Lahan Adalahsuatuwilayahdaerahdipermukaanbumi yang mempunyaisifat-sifatagaktetapataupengulangansifat-sifatdaribiosfersecaravertikaldiatasmaupundibawahwilayahtersebut, termasukatmosfer, tanah, geologi, geomorfologi, hidrologi, tetumbuhan, binatangsertahasilkegiatanmanusiamasalampauataupunmasasekarang, danperluasansifat-sifattersebut. Berpengaruhterhadappenggunaanlahansaatsekarangataupundimasamendatang (FAO, 1976)

  3. EvaluasiLahan Adalahprosespenaksiranpenggunaanlahanapabiladipergunakanuntukmaksud-maksudtertentu, meliputikegiatansurveibentuklahan (landform), tanah, vegetasi, iklim, danaspeklahan yang lain. Untukmembandingkanbentuk-bentukpenggunaanlahan yang diusulkansesuaitujuanevaluasi (FAO, 1976)

  9. LAND SUITABILITY EVALUATION Land suitability evaluation is the process of assessing the suitability of land for specified kind of use. These may be major kinds of land use, such as rainfedagrculture, livestock production, forestry, etc.; or land utilisation types described in more detail, for example rainfed arable farming based on groundnuts and sorghum, irrigated rice production, or softwood plantation.
