  3. Manufacturers • Video display devices (VDDs) • TVs • Computer monitors • Laptops • Netbooks • Notebooks • E-readers • Tablets • Can’t sell VDDs to households unless registered • 60% recycling obligation • VDDs sold to Indiana households • By weight equivalent, based on sales

  4. Collectors & Recyclers • Covered electronic devices (CEDs) • Includes VDDs & much more • Covered entities • Households, Small businesses, Public schools • Don’t have to be located in Indiana • Incentives • Non-metropolitan collection (50%) • Indiana recycler (10%)

  5. Registration & Reporting • All registered entities must re-register & report annually • Manufacturers: April 1; June 1 • April 1 – March 31 program year • Collectors & Recyclers: any time; April 1 • Calendar year program year

  6. Disposal Prohibition IC 13-20.5-10-1 Disposal restrictions Sec. 1. After 2010, a covered entity may not knowingly do any of the following: (1) Mix or allow the mixing of a covered electronic device or any other computer, computer monitor, printer, or television with municipal waste that is intended for disposal at a landfill. (2) Mix or allow the mixing of a covered electronic device or any other computer, computer monitor, printer, or television with any waste that is intended for disposal by burning or incineration.
