  7. JointInvestmentpromotionprojectcoordinatedby UNCTAD This development strategy and plan focus on the following pillars: a. The development of industrial parks and export processing zones necessary for supporting infrastructure; b. Building and strengthening capacities for the promotion of Foreign Direct Investment;c. Building and strengthening domestic productive capacities that are articulated with the Foreign Direct Investment to develop the country, in order to get bigger and better profits for the development of Haiti.

  11. HaitianHemisphericOpportunitythrough PartnershipEngagementAct (HOPE) established by an Act of the United States, has provided a source of jobs and income for about 30,000 people in Haiti. Given the immediate needs of Haiti in the coming years, the United States could consider adopting a treaty "Expanded HOPE”, which can extend duty-free treatment and rules of origin of other products in addition to those already offered by the "HOPE II”.
