  3. What Are The Causes of Religious Indifference? • The Word Taken From Us- • Matthew 13:19 “wicked one comes & snatches away” • Lack of Genuine Commitment – • Matthew 13:21 • Cares of the World – • Matthew 13:22; 6:24; James 4:4 “friendship with the world is enmity with God”

  4. What Are The Causes of Religious Indifference? • The Desire To Be Pleased- • Galatians 1:10 • Ignorance of God’s Word- • Romans 10:3 “have not submitted to the righteousness of God” • Acts 17:30 “commands all men everywhere to repent”

  5. What Are The Fruits of Religious Indifference? • Failure to Attend Religious Assemblies- • Hebrews 10:25 • Lack of Bible Study- • 1 Timothy 4:13 “give attention to reading…” • Romans 15:4 “written for our learning” • Acts 17:11 “searched the Scriptures Daily”

What Are The Fruits of Religious Indifference? • Sound Doctrine No Longer Important- • John 7:16 “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me” • Acts 2:42 “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” • 1 Timothy 1:10 “contrary to sound doctrine” • 2 Timothy 1:13 “hold fast…sound words” • Titus 1:13 “be sound in the faith.”

What Is The Cure For Religious Indifference? • Thinking Has To Be Changed By The Word- • Acts 18:24-28 “showing them from the Scripture” • Matthew 4:4 “every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” • Acts 20:32 “word of His grace, able to build you up & give you an inheritance” • Romans 1:16 “Gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes”

  11. What Is The Cure For Religious Indifference? • Association with the Right Kind of People- • 1 Corinthians 15:33 “evil company corrupts good habits” • Galatians 5:9 “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.” • Interest can Also be Developed by Involvement in the Lord’s Work

  12. Indifference is a Threat to the Survival of the Church! • It will destroy our value System • Ultimately – souls will be lost both in and out of the church
