Detailed Information on NATA 2017 Examination Pattern National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level entrance examination conducted to test a candidate’s aptitude in the field of architecture. The Council of Architecture (CoA) is the regulatory body of the exam and shortlists students for admissions to First-year architecture courses offered at various colleges of the country. The exam is set to be scheduled on 16th April, 2017. NATA 2017 Exam Pattern NATA 2017 paper is divided into two parts - (a) Mathematics & General Aptitude Test (b) Drawing Test and will be held for a duration of 3 hours (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.). All the instructions, as well as, questions will only be available in the English medium. a) Mathematics & General Aptitude Test This section will test the numerical ability of the candidate based on mathematical problems. Every correct answer will fetch two marks to the candidate. While there is no negative marking for any wrong answer selected, it will be penalized in case of tie breaking. Candidates need to answer 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in a duration of 90 minutes. b) Drawing Test The drawing test carrying two questions to be completed in a duration of 90 minutes. This section will judge the candidate’s drawing, observation and imagination skills. It will also evaluate the candidate’s sense of proportion and perspective together with a sense for color and composition. c) Tie-breaking rules for overall score If two or more candidates get the same total marks, tie-breaking logic would be applied in the following order – more marks obtained in Mathematics test, less wrong answers attempted in Mathematics test, more marks scored in problems of Aptitude test, less wrong answers attempted in Aptitude test and earlier date of birth. NATA facilitates prospective students to apply for admissions in the architecture seats in colleges spread across the country. It is an all India level entrance examination and helps architecture aspirants to avoid appearing in multiple aptitude tests.
