  7. Test 1b – Results • Check point Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  8. Test 1b – Results • Calculation of Tput and simulation result Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  9. Test 2a – Parameters setting • Deferral Test 1 • MSDU length: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 Bytes • 2 MPDU limit • RTS/CTS on or off • Data MSC: 0 (6.5 Mbps) • ACK MSC: fixed to legacy MCS 0 (6 Mbps) • Max number of retries = 10 • CWmin = 15 • CWmax = 1023 • AIFS = DIFS = 34 us AP 2 AP1 STA 2 STA 1 (AP1 and STA2 are essentially co-located) Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  10. Test 2a – Results • Deferral Test 1 Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  11. STA 2 AP 2 AP1 STA 1 Test 2b, 3 – Parameters setting • Deferral Test and NAV deferral • MSDU length: 1500 Bytes • 2 MPDU limit • RTS/CTS: test 2b(off), test 3(on) • Data MSC: 0 (6.5 Mbps), 8 (78 Mbps) • ACK MSC: fixed to legacy MCS 0 (6 Mbps) • Max number of retries = 10 • CWmin = 15 • CWmax = 1023 • AIFS = DIFS = 34 us Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  12. Test 2b – Collision model • Case analysis (in view of Green-colored frame) Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  13. Test 2b, 3 – Results • Deferral Test 2 and NAV deferral Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  14. Proposed test cases for MU transmission • IEEE 802.11ac has already DL MU-MIMO scheme • 11ax will adopt OFDMA and UL MU-MIMO probably • Therefore, we need to have test case for MU transmission • In this proposal, we firstly propose simple test cases for DL MU-MIMO transmission for MAC calibration Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  15. Proposed test case: Test 5 • DL MU-MIMO transmission • In this case, we will check operation of DL MU-MIMO data and BAR/BACK transmission • Basic parameters are specified in 14/0980r2 • Topology is similar with test case 1. There are one AP and two STAs • Assumption is that PER is 0 • Output metric: throughput, time trace of transmitting/receiving event STA 1 STA 2 AP1 Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  16. Test 5 • DL MU-MIMO transmission • Check point and frame transaction • CP1: AP1 transmits DL MU-MIMO data frame to STA1 and STA2 • CP2, CP3: STA1 will response by Block ACK after SIFS • CP4, CP5: AP will transmit BAR (Block ACK Request) to STA2 after SIFS • CP6: STA2 will response by Block ACK after SIFS Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  17. Proposed test case: Test 6 • DL MU-MIMO transmission with interference • In this case, we will check operation of DL MU-MIMO data and BAR transmission when there is interference • Basic parameters are specified in 14/0980r2 • Topology is similar with test case 2b. There are two APs and three STAs • AP1 and STA3 is hidden from AP2 and vice versa. • AP1 always transmit MU-MIMO data frame to STA1 and STA3 • Output metric: throughput, time trace of transmitting/receiving event STA 3 STA 2 AP 2 AP1 STA 1 Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  18. Test 6 • DL MU-MIMO transmission with interference • Check point and frame transaction • CP1: AP1 transmits DL MU-MIMO data frame to STA1 and STA3 • CP2, CP3: Reception of STA1 is fail because of interference from AP2. AP1 will transmit BAR to STA3 after one slot (PIFS) • CP4: STA3 will response by Block ACK after SIFS Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  19. Conclusion • In this submission, we provided MAC calibration results • Our results of test 1a/b are well matched with mathematical analysis • The results of test 2 and 3 need to be calibrated with other TG members • We firstly propose simple test cases for DL MU-MIMO transmission for MAC calibration • In this case, we will check operation of DL MU-MIMO data and BAR transmission when there is or isn’t interference Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  20. Straw poll • Do you agree to include the proposed test cases in the simulation calibration scenario? • Y • N • A Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

  24.
