Freshman Health Syllabus(what you need to know in order to pass this course) • Classroom requirements include class participation, homework, classwork, quizzes, tests and projects. • Behavior requirements include, respect for the teacher and each other, no making fun of others even if you disagree with what is said in class. • To pass this class you MUST complete all homework assignments, study for quizzes and tests, complete the long-term project and work with the other students in your group.   3. There are 46 class days: You’re responsible for any missed work. If you are absent more than 5 days, you fail Health! This is a separate grade from PE grade. This Health grade is NOT averaged in with your PE grade! There will be NO make up classes! Your Grades Depend On: Class participation – 20% Quizzes – 20% Tests – 15% Project – 10% Homework/Classwork – 35% YOU You Must Be Responsible!! Mrs. Beth Suckiel/Mrs. Tina May

  7. The group project topic chosen. Leaders shall list whom was assigned which part of the project. Remind each others in the group of due dates. Leaders and members shall notify the teacher if a member is not fully participating. Remember that each person must pull his/her own weight. Members must work together or the project won’t work.   8. Each team will choose a topic from the list in the Syllabus (see list here → → → → → →). One group project is due from each group on 1/21/08. Each project must include: 5 typewritten pages (not including a coversheet and a separate bibliography list), and a group presentation. List of Topics: Health, Nutrition, and Fitness Decision-Making, Peer Pressure, Stress, Peer Mediation Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Addiction Infectious Diseases: MRSA, STDs, HIV, AIDS, et. al.
