Competition Categories For Autonomous Robots • Intermediate Level (Individual Robots) • Line Following • Fight Club (Mini Sumo) • Labyrinth Discovery • Advanced Level (Cooperative Robots) • BARPA Stock Car Race Robots: Multiple line-following robots race simultaneously on the same field. • Mini Sumo Teams: Mini Sumo Robots fight as a team of three members against enemy’s team. • Cooperative Labyrinth Discovery (CLD): Multiple (intelligent/semantic) robots cooperate to find exit(s). Recognition of Competitors • All contestors will be given a Certificate of Participation • First, second, and third place winners of each category will additionally get: • Certificate of Award • Prize money • Gifts as available • Further info is available at the IJRC 2008 Competition Website: www.IJRC2008.org Intro to IJRC 2008 Tutorials

  5. Competing @IJRC 2008 • Indiviuals or teams of 2-3 students / staff • Each competing indiviual/team sponsors (provides) own robot(s) • Sponsoring a robot(s): • Build / Assemble / Buy, • Program / Adjust / Test for the platform • Register @IJRC 2008 for the intended category • All expenses are born by the sponsors • Extra-curricular activity • Introductory robotics training will be offered free of charge by a consorsium of volunteering faculty. Getting Ready To Compete Introductory robotics training: • In order to • Guide interested parties • For them to break into, and • Carry out self-study • Will be offered next two weeks • Free of charge • By a consorsium of volunteering faculty • Limited workshop / lab may be provided. Robotics: Modules of Interest Following subjects with robotics applications in mind will be offered as stand-alone modules and sequenced according to prerequisites: • ELC: Electronics (Reza Abrishambaf) • LCA: Logic and Computer Architecture (Ahmed Shah) • MCU: Microcontroller (Reza Abrishambaf) • INF: Interface (Kiavash Bahreini) • IMP: Image Processing (Hasan Demirel) • PFM: Programming for Microcontrollers (Mehmet Bodur) • EHP: Embedded/HLL Programming (Ahmed Shah, SMH Mayboudi) • SNR: Sensors (Behnam Rahnama) • MTA: Motors and Actuators (Behnam Rahnama) • WLC: Wireless Communication (Muhammad Salamah) • EMB: Embedded Boards (Behnam Rahnama) Intro to IJRC 2008 Tutorials

Participants Must Pre-Register • Register @www.ijrc2008.orgfor this training by filling in theTraining Registration Form available in “Robotics Training” Section. • But first, you must register as a user of the site (in the Login Form Section in the Home Page). • Participants attending at least 15 modules will be offered a Certificate of Attendance Intro to IJRC 2008 Tutorials
