  2. Objectives: • Locate resources on the Judicial Access Browser System (JABS) for continued support. • Sign on to JABS training environment. • Explore new enhancements in JABS. • Use JABS for domestic violence and child custody cases.

  3. What is JABS? • Judicial Access Browser System (JABS). • Displays case and person information. • “Point and click” in a Web browser environment.

  4. Enhancements in JABS: • View case summary information (Summary tab). • View electronic tickets (eTicket tab). • View Abstract Driving Records (DOL tab). • View Individual Case History (ICH tab).

  5. Clerks and judges may use JABS to support court business during: • Domestic Violence hearings • Child custody hearings • Arraignment hearings • Sentencing hearings

  6. Why Use JABS?

  7. Easy “point and click” selection instead of codes. JIS is a mainframe, code-driven environment.

  8. Background information can be consulted in JABS to support child custody decisions.

  9. Prevent conflicting or competing protection-type orders.

  10. JABS is the only tool to view eTickets. Law Enforcement Agency (e.g., WSP)

  11. Fast, real-time access to case information. Data is not “cold.”

  12. Eliminate the need to print out case information in advance. Printed data is “cold.” Cold data = risk
