  2. My name is Liberty and I will be sharing facts about Great White Sharks.

  3. When a Great White Shark is born the pup immediately swims away.

  4. When a shark leaps out of the water its called a breach.

  5. After eating a sea lion or seal sharks last a month or two before eating another big meal.

  6. The scientific name for a Great White Shark is Carcharodon Carcharias.

  7. Adult Great White Sharks can swim up to speeds of 43 miles per hour.

  8. Young Great White Sharks eat rays, fish, and other sharks as they grow.

  9. Some Great White Sharks can weigh more than 4,500 pounds.

  10. A Great White Sharks teeth can measure more than 2.5 inches long.

  11. Sharks and rays are related. They are in a group called Elasmobranchii.

  12. Sharks skin is so rough it can be used for sand paper.

  14. The leopard shark got its name by the look of the skin.

  15. Leopard sharks are caught to put in aquariums and for food.

  16. The leopard shark eats by sucking and biting to eat its prey.

  17. Schools of leopard sharks can be found along coasts and bays in California.

  18. Baby leopard sharks can be found in large tide pools at low tide but are rare to see.

  19. Leopard sharks don't hurt people.

  20. Leopard sharks can have lighter or darker skin.

  21. Mother leopard sharks can have a litter of 37 babies.

  22. Clams, spoon worms, crabs, shrimp, bony fish and eggs are what leopard sharks eat.

  23. Leopard sharks are similar to the Zebra shark and Tiger shark.
