What is SQWM? • A 21st Century Operating Room Management and Surgery Documentation System • SQWM has several primary functions covering workflow from initial consult to surgery completion: • Evaluate the patient • Track medical readiness • Track surgical readiness • Schedule Operating Room (OR) • Facilitates scheduling ancillary services • Track patient status

Benefits SQWM benefits Veteran care by: • Addressing key issues of patient safety and wait times • Improving efficiency and cost effectiveness of the surgery scheduling process, including alerting bed management and ancillary services of daily needs • Allowing for day of surgery patient tracking and providing local and enterprise management reports • Improving data availability for the national surgery quality programs.

What will it do for me? • Easier, more efficient surgery scheduling • Will run in parallel with CPRS and the VistA Surgery package: • Eliminate direct entry into VistA surgery – SQWM will auto fill • Notes entered into SQWM will automatically transfer to CPRS • Decreases wait time for surgery • Enhances data collection and quality improvement
