  3. My Philosophy All students deserve canlearn and are responsible for their own learning. • Children generate lots of ideas • High expectations • Student driven • Independent Thinkers • Active listener/learner

My Teaching Style • Structured • - Content is accessible to your child • - Daily Schedule and Routines • - Warm and safe environment • Differentiated • - Students are being challenged at their level • - Teacher Collaboration • Small Groups • - Grouped together with similar abilities to provide student needs

  5. Daily Schedule Extra Pullouts include: P.E., Music, Science Lab, Computer Lab, Library, 1st grade buddies

  6. Common Core Language Arts- Reading, Comprehension, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, Figurative Language Mathematics- 9 Math Units, Soaring through Math (medal for 7th level) Science- Electromagnetism, Ecosystems, Rocks and Minerals Social Studies- California: Regions, People, History, and Mission

  7. Homework • Homework is an effort grade. • Homework binder • Reading is 20 minutes a night/RAH • Math • Parent signature • 3 baseball for HW excuse.

  8. Grading • Assessments (Summatives) • Tests and Quizzes • Graded Work • Feel free to ask anytime about grades. • Weekly Progress Report 4= 100-90% 3+=85-89% 3=80-84% 3-=75-79% 2+=70-74% 2=65-69% 2-=60-64% 1= 0-59%
