  3. Chart 4.1 Aggregate liquid asset holdings of UK banks as a percentage of FSA Individual Liquidity Guidance(ILG)(a)(b) Sources: FSA and Bank calculations. UK ‘defined liquidity groups’ for Barclays, HSBC, LBG, Nationwide, RBS and Santander as designated by the FSA for liquidity regulation purposes. Liquid asset holdings for this purpose exclude pre-positioned collateral at the Bank of England’s Discount Window Facility in order for the data to be comparable across time periods.
