  3. Purpose Improve skills for building cadet recruit’s ability to succeed with 4C knowledge during challenge week Demonstrate proficiency in prescribed 4C knowledge Rehearse training evolutions using CTM principles…be ready to do it next week

Mindset – The Big 5 --CTM, Inside Cover-- CTM provides practical tips for developing people It’s universally applicable Embrace culture of training to achieve results and develop people Be Capital A accountable – genuinely care for the well-being and success of all other cadets Be trusting and be trustworthy Be a world-class trainer and a world-class trainee Start every interaction with others from a perspective of mutual respect

Mindset--Operating within Limits-- POSITIVE – PROFESSIONAL – PURPOSEFUL – DEMANDING No cadet will put another cadet in a position where he or she must compromise Citadel Core Values or disregard prescribed rules, regulations, or standards 4C system is deliberately and appropriately stressful while always remaining positive, professional, and purposeful

  7. 4C Knowledge Review Source: Blue Book, Chapter 3 • 4C Responses: "Yes, Sir/Ma’am," "No, Sir/Ma’am," "No Excuse, Sir/Ma’am," "Request permission to make a statement, Sir/Ma’am," or "Request better judgment, Sir/Ma’am“ • 4Cs expected to memorize items of Fourth Class Cadet knowledge during cadre training period • Cadet leaders responsible for insuring that requirements to memorize 4C knowledge do not interfere with cadet requirements for adequate study time, food, or sleep

  8. 4C Knowledge Review A Fourth Class Cadet may be required to memorize ONLY these items: • Cadet and US Military Rank • What it means to be a gentleman or lady • Name, location, and purpose of campus buildings • What Fourth Class Cadets outrank • How's the cow? • Why Fourth Class Cadets come to the Mess Hall • What time it is? • The definition of leather • Phonetic alphabet Source: Blue Book, Chapter 3 • The Citadel Cadet Creed • The Alma Mater • The Citadel Core Values • Definition of Hazing • Definition of Sexual Harassment • Definition of Fraternization • What is The Citadel? • What is honor? • What is duty? • Rifle serial number and butt number • A Cadet's own Chain of Command
