  2. Edinburgh RICH Upgrade Plans • Flat-Panel-MaPMT • Measure properties and characteristics of device  spec. FE-chip • Gain and its variations, signal to noise separation, intrinsic cross-talk, magnetic field properties, shielding efficiency, QE, … • Reference system: video amplifier PCB  VME based QADC 64 ch. • Optionally: boardBeetle with Beetle1.2MA0 (limited use) 256 ch. • Bench tests – plan to start asap • Testbeams • Electronics • Development of read-out electronics • Interest in read-out board, FPGAs, optical fibre read-out • No plans for developing ASICs • Production Phase • Photon-detector test facilities for RICH upgrade photon-detectors • Will require more than one institute • Production of read-out component Stephan Eisenhardt
