INTRODUCTION • The relationship between biological effects and Electromagnetic Exposure has been widely recognized from Epidemiological and experimental studies • The growing use of mobile communication GSM 900/1800, Cordless Telephones etc. in the last decade has introduced concerns about health risks from so called man made electro smog.

NON-IONIZING RADIATION • There are several different types of radiation present in our surroundings on a day to day basis. • There are two types of radiation: ionizing and nonionizing. • Electromagnetic energy from cell phones and radio towers are categorized as non-ionizing radiation. • Nonionizing radiation falls into two categories

HEALTH RISKS • Cell phones are becoming increasingly popular, yet most of us are unaware of the damage they are doing to our brains by exposing us to this radiation • This radiation also seems to affect a variety of brain functions including the neuroendocrine system. • Additionally, cell phones have been associated with 200-300% increase neuroepithelialtumours that occur on the same side of the brain that the cell phone was being used on

  8. SAR • SAR:S.A.R. or Specific Absorption Rate of Radiation is used to measure the amount of radiation that the human body absorbs from any source, including cellular phones • . Readings are taken from the antenna to determine the S.A.R. strength which will vary from phone to phone and proximity to the closest signal tower.

CONCLUSION • The man made Electromagnetic Smog has reached such a level that the RF Radiations have started having ill effects on human health, health of animals, functioning of normal household, medical investigatory equipments and even on food products being consumed by everybody. Thus, the phenomenon is like pollution. So far as we have recognized Water pollution, Air pollution, Noise pollution and now we have to recognize the fact of so called Non-Ionizing EMR Pollution (or RF Radiation Pollution) as a fact of life “Let's keep the brain cells alive!”
