  1. Jupiter Thomas Myers

  2. Name and Symbol Jupiter was named after the king of the gods, Jupiter. The symbol for Jupiter is shaped like the number four.

  3. Discovery of Jupiter The ancients discovered the planet Jupiter, when they discovered it is unknown.

  4. Distances Jupiter is the fifth plant from the sun, it follows Mercury, Venue, Earth, and Mars. It is 770,000,000 miles away from the sun. It is 620,000,000 miles away from Earth.

  5. Measurements Mass:1.8981327 Volume:1,431,281,810,73,360 km3 Density:1.326 g/cm3 It would sink in water because the density of water is 1.00 and it is heavier. Gravity: 24.79 m/s2

  6. Orbit and Rotation It takes 4,332.59 days for Jupiter to orbit the sun. It takes 9 hours and 55 minutes for Jupiter to rotate once on its axis.

  7. Atmosphere/ Temperature Hydrogen and Helium are the two main components of Jupiter’s atmosphere. Methane is also found in a trace amount. Temperatures range from -128 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius. It is extremely cold compared to Earth and especially cold to Florida.

  8. Composition Jupiter is a gas giant and it is mostly composed of Hydrogen Helium . Its internals are liquid. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  9. Appearance Jupiter is an extremely large planet that is considered a gas giant. The great Red Giant Spot is on the surface of Jupiter. There are different colored bands on Jupiter as well.

  10. Weather There is a storm on the surface of Jupiter and it is located close to the middle.

  11. Rings Jupiter has three rings. They are only visible when Jupiter passes directly in front of the sun. They are made of small rocks and dust, and they are dark in color.

  12. Moons Jupiter has 67 known moons, and some of the moons were discovered by Galileo using a telescope.

  13. Water Deep in the atmosphere the pressure makes hydrogen and oxygen into water. This causes to create the largest ocean in the universe.

  14. Humans and Jupiter The temperature would kill the a human on Jupiter. The pressure could also kill them as well.

  15. Special fact Jupiter has a storm on its surface that has been predicted to be there for over 300 years. It is called “The Eye of Jupiter”.
