  1. (hillside) Infants were tested at birth to see health and strength. If considered weak left on hillside to fend for themselves     (military camp) If infant was approved by Council of Elders at age seven they were sent to a military camp to be taught how to become a warrior. (silver) Silver and gold was banned because of equality and created culture without luxuries.  (sword) They used spear, bronze muscled breastplate, a helmet with cheek plates, and shield. (shield) Spartan women mixed freely with men and enjoyed sports like wrestling and running. When husbands left for battle they told them to come back with or on (dead carried on shields) their shields.  Spartans did not care much for farming and let helots do it. (whip) They controlled the enslaved people, Helots by force. Some were even whipped to death. (two crowns) They had two kings that ruled jointly (little power) One conducted religion ceremonies and the other king is in charge of leading the army.    (roll of bread) Spartans were encouraged to steal food and be sneaky.  Spartans enjoyed the sports of wrestling, boxing, and running.
