  4. Main Activity Product Investigation: Separate into pairs Choose from one of the following phrases to select a mystery product OB1. Understanding of the need for product analysis when designing new products OB2. Graphically represent the information found in a clear and logical way

Improvements - any that can be made? – find 3 Maintain – can it be repaired or serviced or disposed of? Manufacturing – how is it made? Mechanism – how does it work if it has one? Marketing – is there a brand name visible? How is it used? Storyboard Environmental issues – is it recyclable? OB1. Understanding of the need for product analysis when designing new products OB2. Main Activity Swap one example from each pair and comment on how good the analysis is and suggest one more improvement to the product • Plenary • We have analysed one product and graphically represented the information • By suggesting at least 3 possible improvements to the product we can see the importance of this type of analysis in designing our own product OB1.
