Scheduling Celebrations • Reasons: • Classroom celebrations are more effective when they happen frequently and celebrate specific accomplishment • Small recognition are also appropriate for celebrations • Suggestions: • Silent cheer • Thumbs up • Publication of student writing • Atta boy/girl stickers • Student led conferences

  3. Step by step: • Identify the things you want to highlight • Model the use of positive words • Think of some natural times for celebrations • Teach celebration signals • Bring parents into the act • Support students who are working on goals • Evaluate your celebrations

  4. Homework. Each student must develop 2 questions for each of the assigned chapters to do a group “competitive” activity. The group that wins will get two extra points added to their final grade. Each student from the other team will have only one chance to answer the question.
