HISTORY AND MISSION OF ICRI • History • Organized May 21, 1988 in Naperville, IL, as the International Association of Concrete Repair Specialists. • 2013 marked ICRI’s 25th Anniversary Year • Changed to International Concrete Repair Institute in 1993. • Mission • The mission of the International Concrete Repair Institute is to be a leading resource for education and information to improve the quality of repair, restoration, and protection of concrete and other structures in accordance with consensus criteria. • Overall and Underlying Goal • To improve the quality of concrete repair.

ICRI COMMITTEES • ICRI Technical Committees and Administrative Committees are open and looking for your participation. • Each Committee strives to balance contractors, engineers and materials suppliers and gather opinions from all sides. • You are invited to attend any technical or administrative committees that are of interest to you at any of ICRI’s conventions. • You are welcome to apply for technical committee membership (Admin. Committee membership is appointed by ICRI President) at any time by visiting the ICRI web site. • Only a very few committees meetings are closed: • Those are Fellows and Nominating.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR ICRI now has Ken Lozen as Technical Director to answer your technical questions With this staff enhancement, ICRI is strengthening it’s technical programs and adding some new initiatives to further improve the industry. Over time, having this position will bring new revenue to ICRI and enhance our mission. Ken is not only a founding member but also the original Treasurer of the Institute. He is an ICRI Fellow and has served on many ICRI committees including the Technical Activities Committee (TAC). Ken has more than 30 years experience in restoration engineering, construction materials, quality control, concrete technology and troubleshooting.

CONVENTIONS AND MEETINGS • Chapters Hosting If you are interested in hosting a future convention, the ICRI Conventions Committee would like you to submit to them the following information: 1) Cost of getting to the area a) Airports/Estimated airfare – is the city a hub? b) Uber/Taxi – rid-sharing and cost from airport to hotel 2) Chapter Outing Recommendations and estimated costs 3) Other local activities for spouses, guests, after-hours a) Sports, Shopping, Landmarks, Cocktail Scene 4) Chapter history and potential conference involvement 5) Designated Chapter Conference Liaison to be assigned to committee 6) Potential Conference Theme How you submit is completely up to you. Slides, handouts, dancing bears, whatever creative way you wish to show the level of interest of your and your chapter to host an ICRI convention.
