  2. Agenda • Site License Software Coordinators • ECAL Uplift • Microsoft Forefront Testing • System Inventory Software (Altiris/Landesk) • SLS Policy Guidelines

  3. Site Licensed Software Coordinators • An SLS Coordinator is authorized through their department chair or unit director to partner with OCIO and distribute OCIO site licensed software to end users within their department or unit. • They must be a regular faculty or staff employee.

  4. SLSC Pages

  5. Duties of SLSC • Install and manage software for a department • Obtain and submit signed agreements • Provide records to OCIO regarding distribution • Retain Microsoft “Employee Acknowledgement Form” in departments • Question: What about outsourced support?

  6. Microsoft Forefront Testing • Forefront is Microsoft’s anti-malware product • It comes with ECAL uplift • Coordinated testing can begin soon (DistCons Mailing) • Please provide information if you want to be included.

  7. System Inventory Software • Several units are currently engaging in one-on-one discussions with vendors • SLS is moving on obtaining information • Gathering information regarding • Use • Pricing • Requirements

SLS Policy Guidelines • http://oit.osu.edu/site_license/slpolicy.html • Seeking to review these guidelines • Written in 1990 and updated in 1996 • It appears to be time for an update • Seeking to ensure these guidelines are still an accurate reflection of what Site Licensing does, and what the community expects it to do.
