  2. Soledad’s family • Soledad has a very good family life, she has been married to Bradley Raymond since 1995, together they have four kids. Two daughters and twin sons. The daughters are named Sophia Elizabeth born on October 23, 2000, Cecilia born on march 20, 2002 and Last but not least, the twins! Charlie and Jackson were born on August 30, 2004.

  3. How Soledad grew up/Hometown • Her mother originated from Cuba, and her father from Australia. She is fifth of the six of her siblings. Maria the oldest born in 1961, Cecilia is a corporate lawyer, born in 1962, tony the businessman who is the owner of a documents company was born in 1963, Estela, and eye surgeon was the next to come born in 1964. Last but not least is Orestes an anesthesiologist, born in 1965. All of Soledad’s siblings(including herself) graduated from Harvard University. Soledad is the fifth of six children, she was born on September 19, 1966 in St. James New York.

  4. Education • Soledad graduated from Smithtown High School in 1984, then like all her other siblings, attended Harvard College in 1984, and got done in 1988, but didn’t get her degree until she went back in 2000.

  5. Journalism classification • Soledad is a news anchor and an associate producer. She tells the news and she works directly under the main producer, if he needs something then she's the girl to do it.

  6. Awards • Soledad has many awards to her name. She has won an Emmy for being the host on a discovery channel show “the known zone”, she was awarded the NAACP president’s award. Soledad is also a member of the national association of black journalists. Being a member of that association, it won her journalist of the year in 2010. She was named to Irish American Magazine's "Top 100 Irish Americans" on two occasions. She is also on Black Enterprise magazine's 2005 Hot List. Accompanying that in 2005, she was awarded "Groundbreaking Latina of the Year" given by Catalina Magazine. She has won many awards and is a very memorable woman in the journalist career.

  7. Stories she has famously covered • After doing my research the only story I could find that was famous was her covering the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. She went to New Orleans and went over the damage in the majorly hit areas.

Organizations owned • Soledad runs the organization called “Soledad O’brien and Bradley Raymond Foundation, it helps young women get the education and foundation to overcome hard obstacles that may come in there life. Many girls are apart of it and the foundation has helped many young women through their success to life.

  9. Books published • She has written two books, the first is “Next Big Story” its about her uprising in the news business. It follows her journey on the way to the top and explains the struggles she faces with the new roll she plays in society and in her family life as well The second she wrote is an inspiring story called “Latino in America.” its about the struggles being Latin American and how much they are specialized under the race of Mexican. It also touches on how much the news covers on the certain race.

  10. Soledad's TV appearances • She was the reporter for the famous TV show “The Known Zone”. She was also featured regularly on the show “The Next Step.” Also a show on the discovery channel. She also anchored for MSNBC’s morning show. Another famous one she aired on was “The Sight.” She has been on many TV shows that have in turn won her many awards.
