  2. Review We practiced reading words with the /or/ spelling pattern. Example: horn Brainstorm means to think and start to organize your thoughts. We can use graphic organizers to help us make sense of our thoughts and ideas.

  3. Spelling When we see /st/ at the end of a word, we say each sound, but we pronounce the sounds quickly. This is a blend. Listen to these words: best fast just last lost must rest trust burst

  4. Good Writers Where do I Start? What do I Write? I want to write Good stories!

  10. Good Writers: Write The day I went to the beach with my sister proved to be our best trip yet! At first we ran to the water. After that I found a prickly starfish. I slowly reached through the water to touch it. Kaylyssa would not touch it. Finally we laid down to bask in the blazing sun. The sweet smell of lotion was in the air. People were laughing and playing all around. I hope that we are able to return again soon. That day at the beach was the best day ever!

  11. Good Writers: Write Now we have our 'first draft' which is the first time we write the story out. Good writers don't just write it once. They will revise and edit the story and then write a final draft. Sometimes there will be many many drafts before the author is happy and has a final draft.

  12. Good Listener Eyes are watching. Ears are listening. Lips are closed. Hands are still. Feet are quiet.

  13. Read Aloud: Book: The Magician's Elephant By: Kate DiCamillo Chapter Fourteen : The elephant had a dream of walking next to the boy in the warm sun, and was happy. Peter and Leo visit the magician and again asked that important question, “What if?”. The magician agrees to try to send the elephant back.
