  14. PROFESSIONALIZATION Governmental decision on professionalization process (30 Sep 2010) Over 15.000 individuals applied, 8.761 accepted. At present, 1064 candidates are on training (155 women). 14

MILTARY EDUCATION • Establishing Defense University • Military Academy accredited for • 5 study programs for undergraduate studies and • 4 study programs for master studies Interest of candidates for education at MA and Mil. Grammar School Military Medical Academy: • 20 people educated in 2009 (2 foreign students) • 30 people in 2010 • (2 foreign students)

  16. MILITARY HEALTHCARE • Reform of military healthcare system • 40% of MMA capacity and part of military hospitals capacities functionally integrated in the healthcare system of Serbia • First generation of students of medicine 16

INTERNATIONAL MILITARY COOPERATION Bilateral cooperation • Partnership relations with more than 50 states • 18 Defense Cooperation Agreements signed from 2007 (MoD total 38) • 15 High Level Visits (11 abroad and 4 in Serbia) in 2010 • 28 donation protocols (EUR 7,5 million – largest donators USA, Norway, Denmark, Italy, China,...)

INTERNATIONAL MILITARY COOPERATION Cooperation with NATO • Reestablishment of the meetings CMD KFOR & SAF CHOD • Practical cooperation with the KFOR • Codification Agreement was signed • Serbian Military mission was open on September 24 • Reactivating of the Defense Reform Group (DRG) with 6 Working tables (DRG started 2006, by support of Norway – CPE) • Under register for confidential information in MoD is fully operational

PRIORITIES IN THE FOLLOWING PERIOD • To complete the professionalization process • Modernization and equipping • Joint training and larger participation in peacekeeping missions (EU, UN) • More active participation in PfP program • Strengthening regional cooperation • To intensify bilateral military cooperation, especially military-economic cooperation • Education and specializations of MoD and SAF members abroad
