  1. Washburn School District Technology 2012 Past, Present and Future

Past (2011-12 School Year) • Upgraded our internet connection from 4Mbps to 10Mbps • Upgraded our wireless infrastructure at the HS • Replaced aging laptop cart at the MS with Netbooks • Reworked the Elementary Computer Lab • Installed security cameras at HS • Created a new VLAN to separate security camera network traffic from data traffic • Upgraded desktop computers for district support staff • Attended SLATE (School Leaders Advancing Technology in Education) at Wisconsin Dells

  3. Present • Initiating an Apple iPad project for the district • Moving Promethean Boards from HS to the Elementary School • Installing ceiling mounted projectors in classrooms

  4. Future • Upgrade internet connection from 10Mbps to 24Mbps • Upgrade memory in virtual server controllers to accommodate more virtual desktop/servers • Promethean Board training for staff at the Elementary School (Matt Larson, after school • Train staff on new technologies
