  2. Today when asked about tablet companies definitely two big names would pop up in your head – Apple and Microsoft. Microsoft being the oldest has an iron grip on desktop computing but on the other hand Apple’s iPad has an excellent fan following. So if one was to compare Microsoft’s surface and Apple’s iPad, it would be difficult to say which one would have been better.

  3. To start with, we can take a dig at the features of the tablets. Surface has a full 10.8’’ HD screen, which is a little bigger than the iPad. However, no naked eye would be able to tell the difference. Therefore, if one actually wants to compare and see how important the extra screen inch is, we recommend you to view both the tablets together. Also, note that iPad Air has a slight higher resolution compared to Surface.

  4. We all know the way iOS works inside all iPads so when it comes to operating system even Microsoft doesn’t let you down. Surface products run a fully-functioning Windows operating system. It is suggested that here the deciding factor would be how comfortable you are using the operating system. If you are used to iOS, then you will fall in love with iPad and vice versa.

So when it comes to camera both the devices have an 8MP rear-facing camera that takes decent photos and videos. However, the difference lies in the front-facing camera. While the Surface 3 comes equipped with a whopping 3.5MP (1080P), the iPad falls short at only 1.2MP (720p).

  6. When we talk about photographs, we even need space to store them and so the next important thing is storage. There is a huge difference when it comes to internal storage in iPad Air and Surface 3. The baseline model of the Surface 3 comes with 64GB of internal storage while the iPad Air 2 has only 16GB. However, for additional cost, both the devices can max out upto 128 GB.

  7. One of the most important things other than the price that needs to be considered is the battery life. The battery life of tablet depends upon its usage. So the story for battery life would be completely different with different people. However, both the tablets iPad and Surface have roughly a 10 – hour battery life when used in moderation.
