Camp Tecumseh Lessons • Language Arts (6 major activities) • Mathematics (4 major activities) • Science (7 major activities) • Social Studies (3 major activities) • Physical Education (3 activities) These activities correspond with the Indiana State Standards for 7th grade and will be included in student grades.

  4. Camp Tecumseh High School counselors lead all the lessons and activities. They become role models.

Camp Dates Session 1: Oct. 28- Oct. 30th Smith (all periods) & Ogle (periods 5-7) Session 2:  Nov 4th-6th Lane (all periods) & Ogle (periods 1-4)riods 4-7) Students who do not attend camp, DO attend school the dates of their camp session. They will receive a supplemental packet to work on at school.

Cost and Permission Slips • $135.00 • Can pay by efunds account -  same access as parents pay cafe & student fees -  called -  Camp Tecumseh • You can pay online with credit card or online with checking • Here are the instructions to pay online: • HSE WEBSITE • FOOD SERVICES • EFUNDS-ACCESSED HERE • FUND LUNCH • PAY OPTIONAL FEES • select - Camp Tecumseh

  16. Other Cost Information • Permission slip must be turned in with to their Social Studies Teacher by October 11th or BEFORE! • For funding issues, see Miss P, Mr. Teeple or Mr. Girbert.  No $$ is necessary at camp, however if students would like to purchase Camp Tecumseh merchandise they may bring extra money.  

  17. Behavior Expectations • Behavior issues prior to camp may prevent students from attending. • All school rules (and dress code) apply at camp. (except hats) • Students who cannot follow the rules will have their parents contacted to come and pick them up AT CAMP regardless of the time of day or night. No refunds will be issued for behavior dismissals.

  18. Departure Day • Students must be at school by 8:15 • Parent rides recommended, due to the amount of gear (limit: 1 bag, 1 bedroll) • Luggage should be placed by the student’s bus number • Students should keep a copy of their bus, cabin, table, and trail group information WITH THEM. • Students must pack a lunch for the 1st day only. Disposable containers preferred.

  19. What to Pack • Be prepared for ANY weather, this is Indiana! • Dress in layers • Bring extra shoes – we play in the creek! • Bring OLD clothes – we sit on the ground, muddy or not! • Toiletries • Towels – warm showers are available • Bed roll or sleeping bag and pillow • NO electronics! • No food items – refillable water bottle encouraged!

  20. NO Worries…. • We will send out Departure Day information, Packing Lists, and Student Assignments a week before camp. • If your child takes medication (over the counter or prescriptions) we will have a scheduled medication drop-off time the week prior to camp. Please pay attention to the weekly school newsletter for information regarding medication drop-offs and other important camp news. If you have specific questions regarding your child's medical needs while at camp please contact Nurse Murray or Nurse Vogt.

  21. Cabin Parents Needed • Background check on file • Encouraged, but not required, to supervise on bus ride • Sleep in cabins with students for supervision • Assist with some activities • $25 donations suggested • Get a cabin parent form TONIGHT • Cabin parents selected on a first-come-first-served basis, so if your student will need an adult or you want to be secured a spot, turn in a form asap!

  22. IMPORTANT INFORMATION • All money and permission slips are due between now and October 11th  to your social studies teacher. • Camp is October 28th – November 6th.  • Everyone is expected to attend, let Miss P, Mr. Teeple or Mr. Girbert know if cost is an issue. • Cabin parent forms due ASAP

Forms: • Volunteer forms and procedures on corp. website • Extra copies of cabin parent forms, permission slips, and camp FAQ are available from Social Studies teacher or guidance office. • Cabin Parent forms – HERE TONIGHT!!  • Permission slips will go home next week (There is a fee for background checks and it takes a few days to process. Plus, you are required to watch a bullying video.)
