  1. Heb.5:12-14– “12 For when by reason of the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need again that some one teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food. 13 For every one that partaketh of milk is without experience of the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. 14 But solid food is for fullgrown men, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.”

  3. How do we determine if a particular activity is acceptable before God? Not by what we like Not by what society likes By appealing to the word of God Not through exhaustive lists On the basis of Principles of Righteousness

  4. Principle #1: Does it destroy my identity as a Christian by causing me to be regarded as of the world? Does it classify me with the world instead of with Christ and the church? Everything we do must protect our identity as a Christian 2 Cor.6:17–7:1; Rom.12:1,2

  5. Principle #2: Is the practice questionable in my own mind, and therefore an offense to my own conscience? We cannot do anything which would violate our conscience Rom.14:5,13-23

  6. Principle #3: Does it have a weakening influence on others, and will it become a stumbling block to them? We cannot engage in anything that would lead others to commit sin 1 Cor.10:23–11:1; Phil.2:3,4; 1 Cor.8:8-13

  7. Principle #4: Is it destructive to my body? We cannot do anything which will harm our bodies 1 Cor.6:13-20; Rom.14:7,8; 1 Cor.3:16,17; 1 Thess.5:23; Rom.6:12,13

  8. Principle #5: Does it conflict with my duty as a Christian? We must not engage in any activity that will not allow us to put the Lord first Matt.6:33; 2 Tim.2:3,4; Col.3:1,2

  9. Principle #6: Does it create an inordinate fleshly appetite? We cannot engage in any activity which will cultivate in us an excessive appetite for things of the world Col.3:1-6; Titus 2:11-13

  10. Principle #7: Will it bring me under weakening association and influence? Will it place me at a disadvantage in serving the Lord? We must not engage in any activity which places us under the evil influence of others 1 Cor.15:33; 1 Thess.5:21,22; 2 Cor.6:14
