  2. Toni Cade Bambara • Toni Cade Bambara was a social activist and a writer of short stories, a novel, plays, television scripts, and documentaries. She started writing when she was in kindergarten and had her first story published when she was a senior in college.

  3. More about the author • I write because I must Bambara said. If there were no more presses, no more publishing houses, I’d still be writing. • She was equally devoted to social change and worked to improve the condition of African Americans. Her writing echoes that concern. • Her stories are often praised for their vivid portrayals of the daily lives of African Americans in the twentieth century.

Plot line • Setting/Granny’s house • Rising Action/Men came on granny’s property taking pictures and walking everywhere. • Climax/The camera man told the twins that this man was about to jump off this building. • Falling Action/They didn’t know what to do. • Resolution/The camera man tells the twins that he would make his story into a book.
