  3. Introduction TSG has stated (paraphrasing to a degree): I want my Consultants to be my strategic subject matter experts in their disciplines. I want them to be driving Army Medicine to reduce variability in practice, increase standardization across disciplines and towards an operating company model. I want them to be key strategic leaders in the transformation to a system for health.

  4. Roles of the Consultant • THESubject Matter Expert, the go-to person, for their medical field and/or specialty • For the Discipline • For the Future • For People (both patients & colleagues)

  8. Summary • Consultants are the TSG appointed SME’s within their discipline • Consultant’s expertise and position within the organization make them key “creators” and “drivers” of strategy • OTSG/MEDCOM Staff & Service Lines operationalize strategy
