ABSTRACT DRUG UTILIZATION STUDY IN HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS WITH PULMONAL TUBERCULOSIS AT Dr. RAMELAN NAVAL HOSPITAL SURABAYA The purpose of this study was to analyze the drug utilization in patients with pulmonal tuberculosis who were hospitalized during Juni 1st until December 31st 2005. This study include the demography of the tuberculosis patients, general profile of therapy in tuberculosis, the relationship between clinical/ laboratory data and therapy, and drug interactions. The retrospective method was used in this study with descriptive analysis in which the result then compared to guidelines from Dep. Kes. RI and WHO. The results of study were demography of patient revealed that men suffering of tuberculosis was higher than woman (66% and 34%), respectively. The age of the patient of this study was the productive age higher than others age (57,9% vs 42,1%). 44,73% patients discharged from the hospital with recovered condition, 47,36% with improved condition, 2,6 % with compulsion return, and 5,3 % were died in the hospital. The combination of anti tuberculosis used were: HRZE (44,7%), HRZ (31,6 %), HRE (10,6%), RZE (2,6%), H2E2 (2,6%), and HE (2,6%). The others treatment were treatment used to complication disease (to stop haemoptisis, secondary infection, anemia, and hypoalbuminemia), treatment used to symptoms (to respiratory disturbance, GIT disturbance, antipyretic, and analgesic), and treatment used to secondary degenerative disease (to control blood pressure and blood glucose).
