  3. Connection Requirement • To Build the connections wirelessly • To Save the wiring cost • No Fiber • No ADSL / G.SHDSL / VDSL • To Build the instant and easiest connection Internet

  4. Wired Clients In the home Connection Scenario Wireless Internet Services Provider WISP Clients ANT-OM15 Mesh AP [Relay] ANT-OM8 [Optional] WBT-200 [Optional] ANT-OM10A ANT-OM10A Mesh AP [Gateway] WRT-414 Set as WISP mode Internet

  5. The Setup Steps • Step 1: WAN port mode • Select the WAN port’s operating mode • Step 2: WAN connection • Determine the connection type • Step 3: Wireless Setup • Find the right AP • Connect to the AP • Fine Tunes

  6. Step 1: WAN mode • In the Web page • Click WAN • Click WAN type WISP Mode Make WiFi interface as WAN port This App. Guide Cick this and Apply Then, click Continue to for the next step. WAN Mode Link Default Settings Wireless AP Router

  7. Step 1: WAN mode • For WISP mode there are two choices - AP enabled and AP disabled • AP Enabled: Also act as local AP for home users • Save one AP, if you have Wireless clients in your home • Use the same SSID to WISP • AP Disabled: Act as Wireless-Clients only • Local AP function is turned off • Route between Wireless interface (WAN) and LAN interface • Better performance toward WAN (WLAN) and LAN • As at WISP mode, you have totally 5 LAN port now in WRT-414 • In this guide, we choose AP Disable, however, you may just choice Enable base on your network’s needs

  8. Step 2: WAN connection Click Here to bring out the WAN Settings page. Then Click on Dynamic IP In this App. Guide Click Apply Then, click Continue to continue Step 3.

  9. Step 2: WAN connection • The WAN connection mode can be: • Dynamic (DHCP client) • In this guide we will use this mode • Static IP • Fixed IP assigned from your WISP • You are required to know it in advance • PPTP (Peer to Peer Tunneling Protocol) • Dynamic IP from your WISP • You are required to have the user name and password in advanced • PPPoE (Peer to Peer Protocol over Ethernet) • Same to PPTP

  10. Step 3: Wireless Setup • 3.1 Find the Access Point of your WISP • 3.2 Connect to this AP with correct • SSID • Encryption • 3.3 Check the link status • 3.4 Fine tunes the wireless connection

  11. Step 3. Wireless Setup Click on Site Survey to bring out the Wireless Basic Settings Find the WISP AP from the table and select the WISP AP Click Here to bring out the Wireless Basic Settings Click Refresh to browse the available AP in the air Click on Connect to apply the SSID setting and test the connection

  12. Step 3. Wireless Setup • If the test “Connection” failed, please check the column again • If the WISP is with WEP/WPA security, please close the “Site Survey Window” and setup the security. Click Security Settings to browse the setup page Click on Encryption to setup the security code provided from WISP Click on Apply and then goes to “Site Survey” to test the connection again

  13. Step 4. Check the Connection • Adjust the angle of the antenna to enhance the Signal Strength • If the Signal strength did not enhanced, a Booster, say WBT-200, or powerful antenna, say ANT-OM8, may be required • For an optimal connection, the Signal strength is suggest to keep at 30 or above • An alternative way to stable the connection is to adjust Data Rate

  14. Step 4. Check the Connection • From the Status, you can double check the connections IP Address assigned from the MAP-2000 The Wireless Connection information of the MAP-2000

  15. Wired Clients In the home Connection Scenario Wireless Internet Services Provider WISP Clients ANT-OM15 Mesh AP [Relay] WBT-200 [Optional] ANT-OM10A ANT-OM10A WAN: 172.23.188.252 SSID: PLANET NAT: Enabled Mesh AP [Gateway] WRT-414 Set as WISP mode Internet LAN: 192.168.0.x Assigned by WRT-414 NAT Router

  16. Installation Notes • Antenna Line-of-Sight • To have an optimal connection, the antennas toward ANT-0M15 and ANT-OM8 should line of sight to each other

  17. Installation Notes • Check the Signal Strength • Be reminded, the wireless network will relate to the transmission power and the receive sensitivity • Besides the “Site Survey” you can also check the Central Management Software of MAP-2000 to know the signal strength of this client • To have an optimal performance, make sure the receive signal are close to each other in, at least, 10 dbm Central Management Software of MAP-2000

  18. Appendix • Related Product Information • MAP-2000, the Mesh Access Point, offers the wireless backhaul connectivity where the traditional Access Point, take WAP-6000 for example, shall need the wired Ethernet port for Internet connection at each install spot. • With traditional AP, this shall limits the location of this AP be installed. • No wire will provide more flexible in the installation.

  19. Appendix • Related Product Information • WBT-200, the booster, offers the choice for 100/200/500mw RF power for WRT-414, that shall, without doubt, extend the distance toward the central AP to the CPE clients.

  20. Appendix • Related Product Information • Besides WRT-414, the VIP-161SW, and VIP-161SW the WiFi SIP ATA and IPX-300W, WiFi SIP IP PBX, also supports WISP mode. • As an Wireless ISP, this also help to create a services / business solutions besides Internet connections.
