  2. Teachers report Improved stress levels (TSI) and significant improvements in conduct problems, hyperactivity, emotional symptoms and peer problems (SDQ) • Parents report significantly fewer and less intense behavioural problems – at home (ECBI) • Significant improvements in parental mental health (GHQ)

  3. Estyn Inspection Reports: Well Being and Care Support and Guidance Clearly targeted support for vulnerable pupils has resulted in significant improvements in behaviour, confidence and achievement. Most pupils demonstrate good behaviour and attitudes to learning. They are considerate and courteous and relate well to each other and adults and concentrate well on their tasks during lessons. All pupils behave well, both in the playground and in the classroom. They are polite and courteous, and kind to each other.

  4. Over the past two years, pupils have responded very positively to the behaviour strategies developed through the ‘Wellbeing Group’, which worked to improve behaviour and pupil self-esteem. The work of the ‘Wellbeing Group’ established by the school has had a significant positive and measurable impact on pupils’ behaviour. The nurture group offers good support to vulnerable pupils and as a result pupil behaviour has improved significantly. The behaviour of nearly all pupils is very good both within classes and at break and lunchtimes. Most pupils are polite and courteous, and show respect for each other.

  6. IY Baby Programme: Research in Wales Mothers that attended the programme were significantly more sensitive towards their baby during play when compared to control mothers. The intervention was well received, moderately priced, had good attendance rates and received positive feedback from mothers and group leaders. (Jones et al., 2012).

  8. Qualitative Feedback • A selection of comments are shown below • “this group keeps me sane” • “this group is a weekly highlight” • “the programme made me realise more about my baby’s development” • What did you like most about the programme? • “I wasn’t being judged” • “It was nice to come here and just talk about my worries” • “learning to interact with children” • “I liked meeting other parents” • “The most helpful element was the socialsing – sharing ideas and experiences with everyone in the group” • How could the programme be improved? • “I think becoming a twelve week programme would have helped to establish some of the skills, especially as my baby was only two weeks when the programme began”
