Mission Statement • The mission of the Organization is to support and enhance cooperative community spirit amoung the teaching staff, students and families. • We believe that children are motivated to become life-long learners when they are a part of a thriving learning environment that includes active participation by their families, schools and the larger community.

  3. Members • When you join Bromley East Charter School~PTO, you join a community that encourages student achievement and believes in building partnerships between families and school; together we can make a difference.  Anyone can join the PTO: parents, grand-parents, aunts and uncles. We encourage EVERYONE to get involved.

  4. Executive Board • President • Vice President • Treasurer • Assistant Treasurer • Secretary

  5. President • Serves as the Senior Executive Officer of the PTO • Coordinates the work of the Executive Board and committees of the PTO • Ensues the objectives of the PTO are promoted and accomplished. • Presides at General and Special Membership Meetings and Executive Board Meetings. • Serves as the PTO liaison to the Principals. • Manages the PTO email and responds on behalf of the PTO Executive board, after review of inquires and or concerns from Parents, Administration and Vendors, with the Executive Board.

Vice President • Serves as aide to the President • As vice president, you will play a role in day-to-day operations of the PTO, help formulate the group’s long-range plan, work out issues as they arise, and participate in executive board discussions and decision-making. • In absence of the President presides at General, Special and Executive Board meetings. • Manages the PTO Face book Page for all announcements and postings of events. • Oversee committees, train committee chair people, and be a liaison between committee chair people and the executive board • Oversee fundraising selection, planning, and evaluation as directed by President.

  7. Balance the checkbook Prepare deposits Make purchases Update budgeting software Prepare tax documents Track sales tax dates Get petty cash/change Attend tax classes Write checks Track reimbursements/funding requests Create invoices Treasurer

  8. Secretary • Records and Published minutes of all General Membership Meetings. • Shall have a current copy of the Bylaws at all meetings. • Ensures that notices of meetings are announced in a timely manner. • Ensures that minutes and current Bylaws are posted to PTO website.

  9. Members at Large • Teacher Liaison • SAC Representative • PTO Manager/Volunteers • Family Fun Night Coordinators • Box Top and Campbell's Soup Labels • Harvest Hop Committee • Hospitality Committee

  10. PTO Manager • Approve volunteers • Create events • Train and assist parents • Run reports • Coordinate volunteer appreciation

  11. What do We Do? • Fundraisers • Teacher Conference Meals • Support our Teachers (Homeroom Helpers) • PTO Manager • Box Tops & Campbells Soup Labels • Harvest Hop • Website and Facebook Updates • Bromley Bolt • Family Fun Night

  12. What the PTO has done this year • Funded the Kindergarten/Welcome Wagon Picnic • Bought books for Middle School Social Studies • Funded field trips • Purchased classroom supplies • Purchased iPads • Teacher Meals

  13. Terms & Elections • The term of each Executive Officer is one year, from July 1 to June 30. • Elections take place each year during the April General Membership Meeting and are conducted by secret ballot.

  14. Why should you get involved? • Fresh ideas • Make students, staff and school more successful • Tap into a Network. PTO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You an share ideas, concerns, and experiences. • Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTO, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community. • Speak Up. PTO can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

  15. More Reasons……. • Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTOs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events. • Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTO member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
