  1. Building bloks for NAMA development Jose Antonio Urteaga Dufour jose.urteaga@semarnat.gob.mx

  2. Potential NAMAs for Mexico • Housing • Study to identify energy efficiency actions under a NAMA scheme. Conavi - Semarnat. • Transport • Study to identify existing or potential transportation actions to be incorporated under a NAMA scheme. CTS - Semarnat. • Cement Industry • Study to incorporate under a NAMA scheme, actions such as the increase of clinker mix ratio, and the use of alternate fuels to substitute the use of high carbon content fuels. Canacem • Iron and Steel Industry • Study to incorporate under a NAMA scheme regulations for new built plants and energy efficiency measures for existing plants. Canacero

  3. NAMA on Housing • Is developing by CONAVI (Green Mortgage Program): • Solar water heaters • Fluorescent compact lamps) • Thermal insulation in walls and ceiling • Eventually photovoltaicpanels. • Emission reduction potential: • Each house will reduce about 1 tCO2e per year, and that about 600,000 houses will be built per year until 2020. • Total: 5.5 MtCO2e/y to 10 MtCO2e/y by 2020, depending on the selected penetration scenario.
