  1. English for Palestine is a modern ,communicative English course which has been Specially written for schools in Palestine.

  2. The teacher book for grade (6) present :1- Course rationale:English for Palestine is the sixth level of a complete English course . Level 6 complements and extends the work in level five. Themes and features :2 -The themes in level 6 challenge the students to :_ explore a theme in more detail than at previous levels ..learn more abstract vocabulary_.express their ideas and opinions in free discussion_.produce more language than at previous levels

Course components3-a- student’s bookb- work bookc- Cassettesd- posterse- flashcardsf- tests 4-Methodology_ classroom language : using simple phrases to manage the classroom and help organize activities ,e.g.) come in , stand up, close your books, …etc_ pair and group work : these techniques can provide different opportunities for speaking and listening.

  4. _ Teaching new language : the teachers are going to teach the new words by : Using pictures , drawings or photographs . * Using the object itself . * Using a gesture . *Using the context to explain the meaning of word . ** Translating the word into the learners’ first language. 5 _ The format of units 1-24lesson 1 - Readinglesson 2- language ( structures, functions, notions)lesson 3- listening and speakinglesson 4- WritingDictionary pages : at the back of the workbook will be used to teach the students how to use dictionaries .

Independent learners:teachers should encourage the students tokeep a vocabulary notebookgather families of words in their vocabulary notebooktest each other’s spelling when they’ve finishedtheir work A typical lesson:6-there are some guidelines regarding the timing ofparts of each lesson . Openers7-icebreaker or warm-up activities can be directly related to the theme of the lesson but don’t have to be. These simple activities are really a way of getting all students interested and involved in a lesson from the beginning

Also this helps to consolidate the students’ understanding of English_ Vocabulary : the highlighted words encourage the students toexpand their vocabulary. challenge teachers and students.

  10. 8- Independent learnersIn these sections they should record new language items as they in the class openers9-these openers are usually activities such as:- reviewing a text which the students saw in the previous lesson- discussing a text which the students read for homework- checking the answers to a homework activityreading a written homework to each in pairs-Homework10-It is an important part of learner training to ensure that the students do the homework on time and adequately , whenever it is set

Main Components of English for Palestine : (GRADE3) *Students book with work book activities –presents the new language and provides Classroom activities. *Flash Cards and posters-present key vocabulary to the class ,and enable extra practice And activities as a group. *Teacher book –offers detailed ,step by step lesson notes. *Teacher Audio CD –presents all the listening activities , including prompts for speaking practice.

Main Components for Grade12: *Student’s Book-presents the new language and provides class room activities For practice and recycling. *Workbook-provides additional practice material for class and home use and practice tests. *Teacher’s book-offers detailed ,step by step lesson notes. *Teacher’s audio cassette-presents all the listening activities.

Main Objectives For Grade 3 • to develop a core vocabulary of high-frequency English words which can be built on at later levels • to introduce simple key grammatical structures • to provide opportunities for children to engage in meaningful activities in English • to practise using numbers • to practise and extend children’s abilities in the key skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing ”“Examples are visual aids

  14. There are many objectives for English for Palestine at grade (6) : - To contribute to the intellectual and personal development of the individual . For example : at unit 7 lesson 1 ( Inside my body ) ,page 30, the students are able to improve their abilities at thinking deeply . - To enhance students’ ability to use learning strategies to extend their communicative competence . For example : at unit 6 lesson 2 ,page 27, the students are able to use different skills that help them in their social life . To develop students’ ability to present information in an organized manner For example : at unit 11 lesson 4 , exercise 2 ,page 49, the students ask and answer questions accurately and learn to do the same in similar situations .

There are many objectives for English for Palestine at grade (9) - To develop students’ respect for others , especially those with social , cultural and family background different from their own , by encouraging them to reject sexual , racial stereotypes . - For example : unit 11,lesson 3&4 , page 66, shows some activities that some people (from many parts of the world) do as voluntary work that serve this goal . - To maintain students’ sense of self-confidence and reinforce pride in their Palestinian/Islamic culture heritage and family backgrounds . For example : at unit 8 lesson 1&2 ,page 48, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq’s character is introduced that absolutely would the students fell very pride to be Muslims . - To develop the students’ ability to think critically about different social , environmental ,and political problems . For example : unit 13 , lesson 3&4 , page 78 , introduced social problems and many possible solutions , this would give the students the chance to think about other solutions .

  19. We notice from the previous examples that the contents page in each grade has some similarities and differences It has similar information like the unit ,page ,context but in high schools it is more specific and has more information

Some pedagogical values of the tabulated contents for teachers : - It summarizes the main points in each unit according to fourth skills. - It provides the highlighted lessons that teachers should focus on . - It helps the teachers to know the curriculum in general with clear explanation about each unit . -

  21. Pedagogical values: 1-explain how to teach vocabulary ,grammar , listening ,reading 2-facilitate the way of teaching. 3-how to manage time for each lesson. 4-to introduce the lesson step by step.
