These are the KES “Quick Wins”. • These indicators can be quickly addressed. • Create a new walk-through template to address indicators • Lesson plan format will be modified • Write SOL number and essential knowledge objective on the board daily, by subject • Teachers will increase the use of tested vocabulary and test format on a daily basis • Teachers will give routine information to parents on student performance via phone calls, notes home, report cards, interims, benchmark and teacher made assessments results • Routine meetings with the core School Improvement team to adjust needs as necessary Rapid Improvement Indicators IIIB06 All teachers will systematically report to parents the student’s mastery of specific standards-based objectives. IIIA08 All teachers will review the previous lesson. IID06 Yearly learning goals will be set for the school by the Leadership Team, utilizing student learning data.

Rapid Improvement Indicators IIIA07 All teachers will differentiate assignments (individualize instruction) in response to individual student performance on pre-tests and other methods of assessment. IID11 Instructional Teams will review the results of unit pre-/post-tests to make decisions about the curriculum and instructional plans and to “red flag” students in need of intervention (both students in need of tutoring or extra help and students needing enhanced learning opportunities because of their early mastery of objectives). IE08 The principal will spend at least 50% of his/her time working directly with teachers to improve instruction, including classroom observations. ID10 The school’s Leadership team will regularly look at school performance data and aggregated classroom observation data and use that data to make decisions about school improvement and professional development needs.
