  15. 2002 FP 6 : Mart 2002’de Lizbon’da yapılan zirve toplantısında Avrupa Birliği Hükümetleri Avrupa ülkelerindeki bilimsel ve teknik araştırma kabiliyetinin daha verimli kullanılabilmesi için Avrupa Araştırma Alanının (European Research Area) kurulmasını önerdiler. Bu amacın gerçekleşmesine maddi katkı sağlamak için de 6. Çerçeve Programı oluşturuldu. 6. Çerçeve kapsamındaki proje teklifleri Endüstri, Üniversite, KOBİ tarafından oluşturulan gruplar tarafından sunulabilmektedir (http://fp6.cordis.lu/fp6) 15

Successful R&T Forum for SMEsto Link up with Major Aeronautic Players The Aeronautics Days 2001, organised by the European Commission, was welcomed by SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) as the conference offered an opportunity for them to meet major European aerospace companies, gather information about European research programmes and to network with other European SMEs. The AeroSME Project co-ordinated several of the conference activities, aimed at supporting SMEs which, over recent years, have faced strong challenges in a rapidly changing supply chain. 16

As part of the conference (Hamburg, 29-31 January 2001) over 130 "Matchmaking Events" between SMEsand major aeronautic companies took place, co-ordinated by the AECMA AeroSME Project and the Aeroforum Project. The major aim of these meetings was to provide an opportunity for SMEs to investigate possible participation in European research programmes. Whilst the proposals for the third call under the 5th EU Framework Programme for Research are nearly finalised, companies are already planning and preparing for the 6th Framework Programme. 17

Bu ziyaret Energy, Space, Solar Power, Environment : Research Actions for a New Society FP6 projelerinde, işbirliği yapabilmek için anlamlı ve önemli bir olanak oluşturmaktadır.
