  2. 3 strengths • My strengths in this class were without a doubt the podcast, the assistive tools, and the glog. • I really enjoyed all three of these projects and found that these three were definitely the most helpful in my student teaching.

  3. 3 weaknesses and workarounds • My weaknesses include integrating technology, keeping up to date, and understanding technology. • My workarounds are just to keep trying to keep in touch with the tech world and to know what my students are in to at that moment. I believe that if you do not know what your students are doing then you will have a hard time relating back to them during a lesson. You have to take the time to figure out how their minds work.

  4. 3 opportunities • My opportunities for integrating technology presented itself in my student teaching this semester. • I was able to talk to my students about what is cool these days, since I am not a tech wiz I was very surprised. • I was able to use power point in my classroom to help teach a lesson. • I was also able to use the internet a great deal to learn how other teachers were able to relate to their students.

  5. 3 threats and workarounds • The main threat I came across was the lack of computers, my advising teacher was also not for the idea of technology in the classroom, and I struggled to find time to visit the media specialist. • I managed to schedule a day in the computer lab to assist my students in research for a paper they had. • I also was very happy that my teacher gave me a day to try something on my own which I used PowerPoint to assist me. • I had to stay late many of my days so that I would have the chance to explore the media room with the specialist which she showed me what the kids were using to learn.

  6. Essential Conditions I Can Influence • Equitable access I believe that everyone should have access to a computer whether it be to have the computers open an hour after school one or two days a week for students to use or if they were able to have a period free to use them if needed. • Skilled personnel. I am trying to become more tech savy in order to be able to help my future students. • Ongoing professional learning. I believe that you should always be learning. It is important to keep up to date with the latest in learning.

  7. Assistive Technology Tools • One of my tools was incorporating movies. I think that if a student is enjoying something they learn without thinking they are learning. • My other tool was pbs site which allowed students to see past viewings of educational videos. You could take these old videos and compare and contrast them with newer videos.

  8. 2 Goals • My two goals are to keep up with my students and to continue my learning.
