  1. Call for Nominations, Vice Chair/Chair Elect & Secretary Jeanette Domber Structures TC Chair 09/17/13

Standing Officers • Jeanette Domber – Chair • Steve Russell – Vice Chair, Chair Elect • Lisa Hardaway – Secretary • The offices of Vice Chair and Secretary will be up for election at the next conference • Start thinking about nominations or running yourself • For the past few years, these elections have been uncontested • We have many active members of the committee who should consider running

Election of TC Officers under NEM • Election of new Vice Chair/Chair Elect moved up from April 2014 to January 2014 • Please send nominations to me by December 2013 • Election of new Secretary moved up from April 2014 to January 2014 • Please send nominations to me by December 2, 2013 • New term for officers will start at conclusion of business TC meeting at SciTech • I will finish out the 2013 annual report & new member selection process which are due to AIAA on January 31

  4. Vice Chair/Chair Elect (from Handbook) • Aid the chair in their duties and to apprentice the chair in anticipation of moving up to the chair position • Vice Chair typically serves on the steering committee and may or may not chair or serve on additional subcommittees • Vice Chair will attend the New Chair Training, held in conjunction with the annual SciTech Forum in January of each year, during their term • Typical time commitment required for the Vice Chair averages out to 1-2 hours per week with concentrated efforts around the SDM, Fall meeting, membership selection period (Dec/Jan), and final report due time (Dec) • Good organization skills are required and company (or other financial) support for a minimum of two trips (SDM and Fall meeting) per year is required, with one additional trip to the New Chair Training.

  5. Secretary (from Handbook) • Serves as the data recorder for the committee by taking minutes at the Fall and Spring Tuesday night meetings • Takes attendance at these meetings, maintains the master attendance list (that is used for membership review purposes), and maintains the master abstract review list (also used for membership review purposes and to help the conference representative) • Responsible for ensuring that only Members of the committee vote during elections of officers • Typical time commitment required for the secretary averages out to 4 hours per month concentrated around the standing meetings • Additional minimal time commitments of around an hour or two may be required in conjunction with membership review and other special activities as dictated by the Chair • Good organization skills are required and company (or other financial) support for a minimum of two trips (SDM and Fall meeting) per year is required.
