  2. What is OM? • Students are grouped together in teams and together they solve problems. • The way the team solves their problems is judged against other teams solving the same problem

  3. Made up TWO PARTS • Spend many months creating a solution to their LONG TERM PROBLEM 250 points • Also solve a SPONTANEOUS PROBLEM 100 points

  4. Spontaneous • 5 to 30 minute Brain Teasers solved as a team • NO preparation other than practice: always a unique surprise

  5. Long Term Problems • Mechanical/Vehicle-teams build it • Classical-teams use a classical theme from lit, art or architecture • Performance-teams create a skit • Structure-build structures using BALSA WOOD • Technical Performance-build contraptions with artistic flare
