This paper details the key concepts in a 3-dimensional approach to creating dot-com system architecture. • SUNTONE ARCHITECTURE METHODOLOGY A 3-DIMENSIONAL APPROACH TO ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN • The 3-Dimensional Framework that analyzes an architecture in terms of the three primary design dimensions: • Application Tiers, • Infrastructure Layers, • and Systemic Qualities. • The process of developing an architecture through the application of “architectural patterns”. • How QoS requirements should be used to drive the architecture definition process. • How these principles are synthesized into the SunTone Architecture Methodology, which is iterative and incremental, architecture-centric, use-case-focused, systemic qualities-driven, and pattern-based.
