  2. A main idea is the most important idea about a topic. How to understand a nonfiction text: Recognize Main Idea & Supporting Details Details give information that tells more about the main idea.

  3. Page 4 What is the first page in your textbook where will you find a graphic organizer similar to this that will explain the process? Place your sticky note on this page for future reference!

  4. Reread p. E2-E3. • If this is the main idea, what should be three supporting details? Why should the supporting details reference history and Ybor City?
