  2. Reviewing your offer What does employer engagement really mean? Foundation Degrees are intended to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills that employers need. In order to achieve this it is important that employers are fully involved in the design and regular review of Foundation Degree programmes. It is beneficial if employers are involved, where possible, in the delivery and assessment of the programme and the monitoring of students, particularly within the workplace. Context 1 Part-time /Full-time • Part-time students are more likely to be working in employment closely related to the Foundation degree and more likely to have support from their employer. • Students on full-time, institution-based Foundation degree programmes are unlikely to be sent by their employer (although may well be employed part time).
